Review on Nokian Tires Hakkapeliitta 9 185/65 R15 92T winter by Barbara Majewska ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like the product, the quality did not disappoint.

Size 225/50/17. Drove only 5 thousand km. The spikes are still in place, although the front-wheel drive and 250ls, it used to accelerate 190-200, but 1 spike broke off in the middle, the base remained, very strange. Rolled neatly 1 thousand km. On asphalt, the tires are so-so, although they are tolerable for winter tires, but they really like them on ice and snow. Quite predictable on a snowy and icy road, I did not observe any sharp breakdowns in the demolition. Before Hakka 9, I drove Nordman 5. I liked Nordman 5 much more on asphalt, the rubber composition is noticeably tougher, but on ice and even in cold weather (it gets hard) it’s just scary on Nordman and at the start they grind decently. With Hakka 9, I almost forgot about strong slips at the start. It is not yet clear about wear resistance, although any tires can be erased in 1-2 seasons and low mileage. In general, you can take it, whether the price tag corresponds to the declared quality or not, you can argue for a long time, but still the price is too high. I drove a conti on the first bd, very reckless tires, they easily break into demolition and at the same time the car is easily stabilized, they manage better on asphalt, but still I like Hakka 9 more for stability on slippery roads, side slips are not needed on common roads. Having left carefully for 2 seasons, I saw that 1-3 studs were missing on each wheel, they added studs at the tire fitting. For the 3rd season of operation, the tires became a little stiff and rolls are felt less when changing lanes at speeds. More than satisfied with the tires, especially when you consider that they saved me from an accident a couple of times when I thought that it was already impossible to stop. But if I took it now, I would probably choose icecontact 3 in size 17. Let's see what surprises Hakka in the future, but at the time when I bought them, these were the best studded tires.

Pros
  • Predictable on ice and snow.
Cons
  • I didn’t like it on the pavement, it’s quite rolling, it slows down so-so, but on the whole it’s tolerable, it can be worse. When driving on asphalt around the city in gas-brake mode, although without slipping, the cabin smells of burnt rubber, of course, this is beyond the permitted speed limit.
