This is an example of really bad carbon fibre. The first photo shows that all the fibers in this area are badly torn. Think of carbon fiber as a bundle of straw braided and glued together. If you rip the straw and tape it back together, it becomes quite flimsy and can tear and break. The second photo shows the uneven carbon stacking visible in each section. I really liked the size, look and design, but the material is a risk.
