Everything about this shoe is exactly what it should be. This is a perfectly engineered waterproof hiking shoe with secure footing and excellent traction. BUT…. It is not so. It is not a comfortable walking shoe for flat and level pavements. The toe box that runs from the heel just in front of the ball of the foot makes it perfect for rough or uneven ground but makes it a workout for your calves on flat cement. Gor-Tex is legal and waterproof BUT slightly keeps the shoe warm in hot weather. The profile is very grippy on ALL surfaces. It's absolutely perfect when you want to run on uneven ground, wet or dry, in cooler weather.
