I ride a bike lane most days and share a lane with other cyclists and pedestrians. I bought a cool round bar (which failed immediately - after installation - NOT a solid bike part) and then a simple round bell (how could it fail? - it did). This bell is simple but replicates the cool design factor, seems indestructible, and announces that I'm most of the block away from it. The sound attracts the attention of others without awkward screams. Used 2 weeks, bought another for my wife and suspicion will buy another in the unlikely event of breakage.
