They are beautiful and easy to make but require a lot of time and skill.
I've made a few of these and they can be stressful for beginners but if you have the time and patience they are worth it, they are beautiful and timeless. I got one when I was a kid so they keep great (I'm not a spring baby) and I'm sure I'll be making them for the grandkids too. This is a great productive way to invest time and energy as well as use hand-eye coordination and instruction-following skills. Photos do not represent the finished product.
