Works as described as an M.2 to U.2 adapter.

Anyone leaving negative reviews about this product saying it doesn't work on their SAS server or with SATA drives really needs STFU and stop messing around with hardware they don't understand. This product adapts the form factor M.2 to U.2 while keeping the signals unchanged. It's basically a plug adapter. You need a PCIe endpoint to connect this, e.g. B. a fanout card with the correct SFF ports. Anyone using this product with a Samsung 980 NVMe drive in my Dell R720 after upgrading one of the bays with a dual U.2 + PCIe backplane card = great success.
