Not what it is - won't work with a SATA connection

The adapter fits my M.2 NVMe device but will not connect to a standard SATA connector. The SATA port does not consist of two parts (power and data), the port is a single port. Will not work with older SATA device cables!

If you know what it is, it works great!

Worked great! It seems like a lot of reviewers just don't get what it is. I added a PCIe M.2 NVME drive to my system with it. Many servers have U.2 PCIe drive bays, so you can add M.2 PCIe drives to these bays. For me I had an Occulink connector on my motherboard. , with a simple cable I converted it to U.2. People shouldn't leave negative reviews just because they bought the wrong device.

PLEASE ATTENTION, NO SATA connector comes out, but a SAS connector.

This is very misleading. I bought this and it connects to my m.2 NVMe SSD. No problem. The problem is on the other end, I can't connect an external SATA drive because the other end is actually a SAS connector and not a SATA connector. I spent almost $28 and now have to spend another $6 plus tax for a SAS to SATA adapter: the product page says it is a SAS connector.

Works as described as an M.2 to U.2 adapter.

Anyone leaving negative reviews about this product saying it doesn't work on their SAS server or with SATA drives really needs STFU and stop messing around with hardware they don't understand. This product adapts the form factor M.2 to U.2 while keeping the signals unchanged. It's basically a plug adapter. You need a PCIe endpoint to connect this, e.g. B. a fanout card with the correct SFF ports. Anyone using this product with a Samsung 980 NVMe drive in my Dell R720 after upgrading one of the…

Great but make sure you get the right one.

This is a wonderful product. Even better if you get the right one. My point is to be careful to buy the right adapter (and maybe an SSD for it). I bought this unit before opening my laptop bag to check what type of plug I had. I say this because I'm a technician and should have known better! My own car, for heaven's sake, and I screwed it up. These adapters are great for replacing older mechanical actuators. Of course it has to be right. moral of the story? This is a great adapter, nice and…

That should be easy - I've been doing this for years.

I'm just trying to connect my Samsung 960 EVO NVMe M.2 to one of my computer's USB3 ports. It should be easy - I've been doing it with all kinds of SSDs for years. Apparently PCIe NVMe M.2 drives are different? My setup is below. See attached picture. Useless product as far as I can tell

I pulled a couple of 250GB NVMe SSDs from Dells. I decided to reuse them for some older computers without NVMe slots, so I bought one of these for testing purposes with the intention of connecting NVMe drives to the SATA ports of older computers. Lo and behold, they don't have standard SATA connectors, they have SFF-8639 connectors commonly used by SAS (server oriented) drives. So forget about connecting them to standard SATA controllers; You need to connect the RAID controller with the…
