Terrible smell - my new review

I bought them as a gift. The quality is decent for a children's hat, scarf and gloves set. But what is terrible about this product is the smell. I took it out of the box because I need to wrap this gift tonight to take to school tomorrow and the smell is awful. I am currently keeping these items by an open window here in NYC to try to mitigate the odor. I'm very embarrassed giving this away but don't have time to run to the store tonight to find a replacement.
