Review on Paasche Airbrush Vision Gravity Double by Carrie Spencer

Revainrating 3 out of 5

0.6mm and the fan shroud are amazing. Otherwise nothing special.

I bought these after reading many reviews. A lot of reviews seemed to either love it or not care. I ended up buying it because of the specs. Several different tip/needle combinations, a trigger stop to help the beginner control paint flow, a fan cover, and an airflow control. After using it a bit I can say that there is nothing special about it. It weighs 123g with the 0.6mm nozzle, fan cap and quick disconnect installed. Not as heavy as the Grex Tritium.TG3 that my wife uses for body painting as it weighs 230g, but I have seen other airbrushes that are 30-40g lighter than these pairs. I struggled to get the 0.2mm and 0.3mm needles to seal the nozzle. I cleaned them. I loosen the chuck and put them back. A little color always comes out, so even when I just need air, there's still some color coming out of the tip. They were brand new, just out of the box. I don't have this problem with the 0.6mm nozzle/needle. I also found the built-in airflow regulator unusable. It might work if you screw it almost all the way down for minimal airflow, but if you want maximum airflow and screw it out there's suddenly a lot of play in the threads and o-ring. A tap of your finger causes movement (imagine a loose screw in a hole that is too big). This random blow changes the airflow and affects your painting. This is not a very good feature. I would prefer to have a flow control valve in the intake line. I really like this airbrush with 0.6mm nozzle and fan cover. Ideal for priming and painting large areas. I will use it for models like car bodies or airplane wings/fuselage. I am buying another airbrush to use for detail work.
