This is an amazing product for the price. It comes with a RouterOS 4.0 level license. Yes, it has a steeper learning curve than other home routers on the market. But it tries to compensate with a web interface and a setup wizard. My setup is quite unusual, so regular routers either don't work or I have to flash alternate firmware to get the best out of them. This little router gives me the flexibility and reliability of RouterOS. I use my home office connection via a radio that transmits the signal from my office building to my bedroom window (yes I'm lucky I live close to my office which cuts down on commute time and the downsides are I' In an emergency, I'll be the first to call.) Our office closes at 4:30pm and after that all bandwidth just stands there. So I distributed the unlicensed bandwidth to my guest house at home and office. Back to the router, I configured it so I could control the bandwidth at home to a minimum during the day. 256 kbps for emergencies and in the evenings it increases bandwidth by 80% for me and 20% for the guest house. I know I could do it from the office side as we use Mikrotik there too. However, I just like the control on the receiving end, and it gives me the flexibility to set up an access point on both Wi-Fi and a wired network. I have setup priority for VOIP and gaming devices. The wireless signal prefers to have decent coverage, and I didn't have to restart the router due to power fluctuations like I experience with other routers in my location. Note. The user manager doesn't work with it as hAP lite doesn't support it, I think it's a hardware limitation. But overall this is a great device for the money and a bit of a flexible powerhouse overall. To get the most out of the device, understand/explore the Mikrotik RouterOS configuration via WinBox. All the best. Hope that helps.
