I'm new to motorhomes and bought a used motorhome. All tanks are considered empty except for the black tank which is 1/3 full. The previous owners came back from a 9 day trip the day before and told me they had left some fresh water in the black tank as per recommended procedure without leaving it empty. The first weekend we were going to use the RV, I filled up a fresh tank and then poured some Unique Digest It into the black tank. Immediately after flushing, a terrible smell came out of the toilet. Just in case, I went ahead and added a little more Unique Digest It. I only used the toilet a few times this weekend (only for #1). At the end of the weekend, when I emptied the tanks, suffice it to say, a lot of unpleasant things came out. Once clean water flowed through, I added fresh water to the black tank with another shot of Unique Digest It and the smell was very minimal. Now I'm home and have added more fresh water, tank cleaner and some Dawn Blue dishwashing liquid to be safe. The smell is almost completely gone. My plan is to go straight to our campsite at the start of the weekend, have it sprayed, unloaded and flushed the tanks again and I'm sure the smell will definitely be gone by then. I will use this regularly in the future. Great product and easy to use, especially for a new camper driver!
