I lost my original Koss headphones which are made from the same material used in noise canceling ear buds. They handled background noise well and gave off a clean, dense sound. The big advantage was that I used them with my closed motorcycle helmet. I was able to listen to music or books on tape during my 2.5 hour drive to work (yes, 2.5 hours Monday morning and Friday afternoon). Replaced a lost pair with these and what a bummer. The foam just expands. And they're a bit slippery, so they're easy to fall out of your ear, especially when putting on a helmet. The plastic back panels are also now larger and often cause problems. The built in volume control is fine if you don't mind being quite loud! Move the slider one microinch. Pooh. I wish I had my old ones.
