Quality 5/5 Taste 4.5/5 Combined 4/5 Affordability 3/5 Let's start by saying I didn't get this product for free or discounted, I bought it. I chose this review because there were no other reviews about it at the time. As for me, I'm not a fitness guru or protein powder expert. However, I'm a former Marine, a recreational runner who loves to work out, do yoga, swim, etc. so I'm no stranger to fitness and protein powders. I've always used whey proteins, so a lot of my comparisons will be to whey. Why did I choose this particular protein? Well, unless you live under a rock somewhere, I'm sure you've heard about all the nasty things that are in our food these days. These include but are not limited to: GMOs, growth hormones, antibiotics, pesticides and so on. For this reason, they can naturally be included in our dietary supplements. Lately, I'm personally trying to keep track of what I'm putting into my body, especially GMOs. I'm sick of most supplements with bad fillers and "mysterious ingredients". I wanted something pure with more ingredient transparency and legal certifications to back it up. This protein is also very clear in its amino acid profile, it's not hidden like some brands do. Those are the reasons I decided to give this protein a shot, sticking with whey. The protein itself is slightly different from the others I've used. It is neither optically nor olfactory very pleasant. It smells like plasticine, with a slight hint of vanilla. It seems to look and behave slightly differently than whey protein. It sticks together into tiny balls when you shake the container to loosen and mix the powder. It also whips up a bit, but not as well as whey powder. The little nuggets break easily at the slightest touch, so don't let that stop you. It also has a slightly different texture than whey. In most cases, if whey protein gets on something, it can simply be wiped or brushed off. With this protein powder, it leaves a fine residue, similar to talcum powder or cornstarch. That being said, it's pretty hard to shake off as it practically needs to be washed off or wiped with something damp. So be aware that this product is messier than regular whey powder. And you will quickly discover that when you reach into the measuring spoon. In terms of blending and flavor, blending didn't seem any different than most whey powders. I've used my blender bottle the same way as whey powder and haven't noticed any noticeable difference between the two powders. It actually mixes very well, just like high-quality Dry Whey. The taste surprises! Given the smell, which also got better after mixing. I mixed it with almond milk the same way I mixed it with whey powder. And I have to say I was definitely impressed by the taste, it's delicious. It also tastes like you love it, so I'm looking forward to that. The taste was vanilla in case you are wondering. Time is money in terms of a dollar per gram of protein, which you can easily identify with any protein powder. In this case, one serving is 21g, of which 15g is protein, for a total of 38 servings. So we have 15x38, which is 580 grams of total protein. Now divide that by the amount you pay for the product and you have your protein-per-dollar ratio. You will likely find a smaller number on this product. Because let's face it, for the amount of protein you're getting here, this product is quite expensive. I'm not a fan of prices, but sometimes in life you get what you pay for. So you must be wondering, is the extra money worth it for your health and peace of mind? You decide. Why did I give this product 5 stars? Quality! It has several certificates confirming its purity. This gives me the certainty that I can trust the product. There is no need to worry if it is potentially harmful due to the use of cheap fillers and toxic ingredients. I also consider this protein to be one of the best in its class compared to other plant-based proteins. This product also contains approximately 71% pure protein, which is significantly more than most plant-based proteins. Also, surprisingly, the price is not that high compared to other plant-based proteins. Use the dollar to gram protein ratio and see for yourself. And, as I noted, the flavor is pretty good and it mixes well too. You also get added benefits from probiotics, antioxidants, and a robust BCAA profile. So if you're looking for a healthier protein supplement, this might be for you. Personally, I'm switching to this plant protein instead of whey protein and I'm very satisfied. If I notice anything unusual about this product, good or bad, I will update it. Warning: For those of you sensitive to caffeine or simply avoiding it in your diet. Chocolate flavor contains caffeine, 7mg per serving.
