I plugged the adapter into my computer and it was immediately recognized by my computer and connected to the internet with no problems. So far it's doing what it's supposed to do and I hope it will continue to do so for a long time. I bought a USB to Ethernet adapter that connected to a USB port with a cable (cord) at one of the nationwide electronics stores. almost triple the price and after a few months the cable broke and I had to throw the product away. After that I searched for a cordless adapter for a while and luckily finally found an adapter from Syntech. I recommend this adapter to anyone looking for an adapter without a cable.
