later I replaced one of those long harmonica-like plungers with this simple human plunger. It costs a bit more (like in more than double) and while it looks really nice, it's not that effective for sinking in toilets. I've had numerous instances where the plunger couldn't do its job fast enough, causing it to overflow. It also sometimes causes "backward splashing," which is as annoying as it sounds. Equally disappointing is the stainless steel handle, which stains over time. I have what looks like rust running up and down its length. It wasn't even a year before it became a problem. Simplehuman does a lot of attractive modern things. I have their lockable bin and small dish drying rack, both are great. That toilet plunger sucks though. If all you care about is the temporary aesthetics of a tool used solely to push toilet paper and feces down a tube, this plunger is for you. Just try not to really need it.
