Review on πŸ”‡ Auphonix MPF-1 6-inch Pop Filter with Dual Mesh Filter Screen for Microphones by Chris Dildine

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This version attaches securely to a tubular post. Another version is attached to a flat surface.

I just upgraded my rating to 5 stars. At first I only gave it 3 stars because it was designed to mount to a tube pole mic stand and I wanted to mount it directly onto a flat surface (my Yeti mic stand). Auphonix now has a version that can be securely fixed to a flat surface. I just got one and it works very well. So I've changed my rating for this version as it's only used with a tube mic. If you want to mount on a flat surface, please buy another version. I should also add that Auphonix customer support was amazing in their reply to my original post. Based on my experience, I recommend working with these people. --- my original post --- I really like this filter except for one thing. It is designed to be mounted on a tubular arm mic stand and does not mount well on a flat surface. I use it with the Yeti Blue mic and there is no good way to attach it to the mic. I want to take a closer look before buying. I've tried mounting it on the back of the mic as some reviewers have suggested, but it's unreliable. It weakens as you try to adjust its position. It would be nice if Auphonix provided a good way to mount it on a flat surface or something permanent. FOLLOW-UP NOTE (1/8/14): Auphonix now has a version that snaps securely to a flat surface. I have one and am happy with this version of the pop filter with the new "flat" clip.
