I thought my roommates had lost the official remote control so I ordered this after seeing how expensive the official remote control is on the LG website. It can also be 99% official and three times cheaper. This 1% is the difference in the visible text on the remote itself. (See image.) The text on the original and replacement remotes is slightly different. But it's so insignificant that I really had to look inside to see that one of them is bolder and stretchier. Aside from the lack of the LG logo, I'd say it's legal. All buttons work as they should. However, the replacement remote requires a bit more button presses to actually register. Basically it's the home button and a few others that seem to be needed at random. Not enough to deduct a star as it saved me three times more money.
