Review on Cat Mate Elite Door Wall Liner Compatible with All Cat Mate Elite Doors and Select Cat Mate Flaps by Colleen Wilson

The door fits perfectly into my wall without any problems. I needed and bought two wall inserts that worked fine. The locking mechanism works well with the collar tag; No problems so far BUT my cat is still not used to the SOUND the system makes when unlocking. The cat refuses to even go through with this and ends up using various locations in our house as a new makeshift litter box. When I coaxed (read: graciously pushed) the cat through the door, it didn't seem bothered by the noise and came through relatively willingly; However, when we went to work during the day, she decided it wasn't worth the risk that some kind of hidden guillotine might have been built into the door and instead used our carpet, tiles, a clean laundry hamper etc.etc. as a wastebasket. We never had this issue with the previous (non-locking) cat door this one replaced. We have effectively left this door in 'open' mode for the past month now, defeating our purpose of purchasing a relatively expensive electronically locked cat door. manually - only when we put it back into lock mode does the noise startle the cat :( ).
