Unable to connect to the app, high noise level

My 2008 IS350 has an AUX port and a power port in the center armrest compartment. I needed a temporary solution while installing the VAIS Tech adapter. I didn't want (a) a battery so it turns off when the ignition is turned off, (b) no microphone, (c) compact form factor, (d) Bluetooth 5.0, (e) internal noise cancellation. This seemed to fit the bill. The device is quickly configured. It transmits music and navigation instructions perfectly. And it fits in the tight space under my center armrest. Unfortunately, the background noise is TERRIBLE. In the emptiness between songs, I can tell engine speed by the frequency of the high-pitched tone coming out of my speakers. The programming app is not syncing with the adapter. I don't even know if the noise cancellation works as you need an app to enable the noise cancellation. If noise reduction was the default setting, I would give it an extra star. As other reviewers have pointed out, it doesn't always connect when switched on. You need to go to your phone's settings screen and reconnect manually. I had a Griffin iTrip adapter that worked pretty well for 5 years but was discontinued. Very disappointed with this Tunai Firefly.
