Review on πŸ‘ž Sof Sole Neatsfoot Oil Natural Preservative - 8-Ounce for Smooth Leather Shoes and Boots by Maurice Matlock

Revainrating 1 out of 5

This is not just a pure foot oil. It is fortified with stubborn, strong-smelling petrochemicals.

It might be the perfect product for some problems but not for me. I run a small organic business and purchased this item to help make leather conditioner, beeswax and lanolin. A customer gave me a sample of an air conditioner that came with a leather wallet purchased on Etsy so I could reproduce it as accurately as possible. Before that I had never heard of anesthetic oil, so I had no idea that the smell of gasoline is a bad sign and does not indicate 100% anesthetic oil but mixed with petroleum based products. (I didn't sniff the sample they gave me, just checking for texture.) I melted down three 4-ounce cans and used the rest on two pairs of my combat boots. A few days later the smell was still so strong that I had to put my boots outside the door. Although I don't see it as a complete loss. I can give these leather conditioners to friends who need solid leather conditioners for their saddlebags on their bikes, but I would never use this product on anything that sticks to you like a handbag. I bought 100% foot oil and it has a nice lard smell to it. Nowhere in the description of this product is it mentioned that it is a mixture but one bad smell and it becomes obvious.
