Okay, I replaced all of the kitchen drawers and cabinets with soft close hinges. It looked like a very easy option to complement my soft-close cabinet hinges, so I ordered a pair to try. They won't work for me. I think others have considered this as well, you should first check the drawers you plan to use them for and make sure the sides of the cabinet you are attaching them to are flat. My custom drawers have more space inside with a thin piece of wood that the drawer slides are attached to. There just isn't enough room for them as they mount directly over the existing drawer slide. It's not their fault they don't work, I should have been more familiar with the installation process before purchasing. I suppose I could glue the piece to an existing piece of wood, but that defeats the "simplicity" of what I was looking for. I can do this for my 2 most used drawers, but I'm not interested in doing this for every drawer in my kitchen. Moral of the story: Check the installation site to make sure there is room above the existing devices to plug them in. To update:. Okay, glued a piece of wood to the existing drawer frame and attached one of these to our cutlery drawer. It was pretty easy to install, although like others I found a YouTube video that explains it better. It works amazingly well. The "hard pull" that others have complained about to me is negligible. It's not as good as buying a new slide set, of course, but it offers a smooth close with a lot less installation hassle. I only needed one on the first box so I'll install the second one tomorrow. It is possible to purchase additional sets for other commonly used drawers. Act!
