Review on πŸš€ Enhance Engine Performance with Beck Arnley 158-1471 Air Mass Sensor by Josh Endricko

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good replacement for 2010 Altima 4 cylinder sedan (but see update)

Works well in my 2010 Altima 4 cylinder sedan. No adjustments or parameter changes required, just plug it in, reconnect the MAF wiring connector and you're good to go. Search YouTube for videos. Here's what I did: 1) Disconnected the negative battery cable 2) Disconnected the wire connector from the MAF 3) Removed the two screws holding the old MAF sensor and removed the old sensor 4) Inserted the new MAF sensor and pressed/tightened two terminal screws 5) reconnected wires to mass air flow sensor 6) reconnected battery wires 7) started engine and let it idle for 10 minutes ok. Update: July 2015: My car started stumbling and stalling after 9 months of running with a Beck-Arnley Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. Since I kept the original as a spare, I took a chance and reinstalled it and magically the tripping/dying was gone. It seems the original was still good and embarrassingly exposed my feeble attempt to clean it up. Told my mechanic what happened and he said that on critical parts that send input to the engine computer and affect handling, he always uses dealer-supplied factory parts and not aftermarket OEM parts. Lesson learned. But everything ended well. The failed Back-Arnley came with a 12 month warranty, which I found out when I called them to complain. However, they do not provide any warranty service themselves, shifting it to the seller, which in this case was Revain. Of course, Revain offers a one-year guarantee, and Revain was happy to give me my money back. Still, I downgraded the MAF to 3 stars due to bad luck. What about the original I reinstalled? Still on the way as we enter 2016.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly dented
