It just works! (Make sure your source is good too!)

I bought two but one of which was for a customer who wanted access to their VCR 13 years ago after upgrading their TV. The new "smart" TV didn't have analog connectivity, and frankly, there were a few bumps in the road, but it turns out it had nothing to do with this device. The customer put in an old VHS tape that he had never seen but intended to use and initially all I could see on the screen was a blue background that said 'No Signal'. Trying the menu on the VCR worked, but we didn't see anything else. I wrapped it up and got ready to return it, then it occurred to me that the TV could interpret the noisy signal as "No Signal" so I asked for another/known good cassette and was amazed at the picture quality of one commercial video cassette on this 4K screen. I was expecting poor quality and grainy image but to my surprise it was a warm and beautifully enlarged image. The customer then said they might not have gotten it on the first tape but they had never tested it before. ; it was on her to-do list. Make sure you have visible content on your tapes, otherwise your modern TV will choke out the picture noise! I'm glad I bought 2 of these so I can keep 1 as a spare for next time this happens.
