Safety Humane Training Collar

When I heard that several large organizations are using this collar to train their service animals I thought it would give more credibility to using this collar. I chose this collar for our English Cream Golden Retriever. Oliver wants to lead and pulls. We've tried just about every type of leash and collar out there. From the harness that goes back to the chest to different types of collars, none of which seemed to fit our dog. Of course, trying on a new collar or device takes time. Don't expect overnight miracles! When you try a new type of collar or leash, you have to constantly work with your dog until he (or you) understands. In our case we use this collar along with a short leash and it seems to help. I don't like the necklace because it literally chokes the dog. To make matters worse, if the collar is put on the dog incorrectly, it will not return to its normal position. That's the beauty of this collar. It doesn't have to fit a certain way, because there's only one way to put it on. You just need to make sure it's tight enough (slide a finger or two snugly under the collar) so that the two ends of the chain come together firmly when you pull on the collar. How the corrective action works. It tightens and then returns to its normal position or relaxes when the collar is no longer being pulled or fastened. We continue to work our dog with this collar and so far he seems to be getting it. This is the only collar we use now. It's safe, humane (unlike a choke collar), and easy to use. PROS: quality, ease of use, durable material, reputation of the manufacturer.
