Learned about polygel nails from a TikTok video. I've been thinking about trying this for months. Being in quarantine, I decided to explore the product further. I looked at a lot of different brands (walked so many rabbit holes oh my) and watched a few tutorial videos. I decided it was best to use this one for several reasons. Here are 10 ESSENTIAL TIPS: 1. Almost ALL products have at least one bad rating (maybe more if there are more reviews). This was the best for me and I'm glad I chose it.2. Unless you're a pro, you need PRACTICE. Don't think you can become a doctor just by watching Grey's Anatomy. come on.3. It was easy to use compared to real acrylic and wasn't sticky if you use the right joint compound.4. I bought my own UV/LED nail lamp from Amazon for about $19.5. I also bought my own foundation (REQUIRED) and used a 70% alcohol solution to sculpt the gel.6. Start with shorter nails FIRST. Don't get cocky the first time and don't try to do long stilettos if you haven't even figured it all out yet. First of all, prepare your nails. Ready Ready Ready This means washing, drying, filing/shaping/trimming your dirty hands, pushing back or trimming cuticles, gently filing the entire nail(s), buffing a bit and adding a primer or dehydrator. DO THAT. THIS WILL MAINTAIN THEIR DURABILITY. Help make money.8. Speaking of last longer. Don't apply too much gel at first! You should start small and add more as needed - don't be overbearing.9. Also, be careful not to press too hard on the nail form to reduce leaks or blisters (clean around the cuticle area with a brush dipped in alcohol to remove excess).9.
