Once you dial in, it's amazing! If you want a whopping 8 hours of battery life (with a lunchtime battery change, of course), set to 480/30p, video quality: good, light sensitivity: high, IR switch: automatic, LCD auto-off: 30 seconds (but press the power button to turn off the LCD as soon as you start recording), GPS: turn off and leave everything else as it is. The built-in speaker is incredibly loud (although subject to distortion when viewed on a PC/smartphone, the sound is crystal clear even in strong winds). Not only will it work for a full 8 hour shift with these settings, but after changing the battery in the base station it will be fully charged before the battery in the device itself is drained again. Yes, that means you can record continuously until the memory is full. Speaking of storage, an 8-hour video takes just over 10GB. To facilitate indexing after the change, all you have to do is remember to take a photo around the period you want to remember later. Really can't say enough good things about this device! Only one star off because the included clamps (which hold up great and stay in place) don't rotate. Throw in a rotating clip and maybe give them the option to buy extra batteries (in case you want to use higher quality settings) and you easily get ten stars, heck only five!
