I have used this on Oliver Small Block Ford rods (size 302), the cap was REALLY tight and it worked great! Easy. Manufactured from billet aluminum. The handle is plastic but strong enough. :)Advice. To remove the cap DIRECTLY, simply loosen the caps a little and then separate them. Loosen it a little further, twist again and carefully remove the cover without bending it sideways. Another treat. This tool is designed for rods up to the size of a small Chevy block. which has a neck diameter of 2,100 inches. It also works great on a small 2.123" Ford block, but it won't be much larger on a bare stem (no bearings). A piece of rubber or something that takes up little space will allow it to go with larger bars work. Without something like this I would NOT feel secure on a set of good rods. The tolerances are tiny and it's a BAD idea to force the caps off. and those suction cups are often really tight. Good luck!
