A wonderful product, it's nice to use.
The laptop was bought to replace two laptops. Macbook Air 11 inches 12 years old - 4 gb ram, core i5, ssd 64gb. and dns extreme (aka clevo p170em) -17 inches, core i7, 16gb ram, ssd 256gb and hdd 1tb. The main problem was the performance of the first laptop, an outdated screen, and the complete non-mobility of the second. The Mac was like a home laptop, sometimes it worked from it when I didn’t go to the office, and there was a working laptop in the office, which, due to its bulkiness, was uncomfortable to take home. Therefore, the task was to obtain a powerful solution while being mobile. The only thing I was sure of was buying a poppy as a solution to the problem, not Windows. And not because apple is apple, but at least because of the need to reinstall Windows every 2-3 years and search for drivers, the system lives on a poppy for years without problems, and if suddenly there is a need to reinstall, then this is all done literally in 3 click, all the drivers are installed themselves. I will not describe here a bunch of other nuances of Windows and Mac, I will only say that for myself I have completely decided on the choice of operating system. But the choice of form factor made me think. First I wanted an ated 13 inches (waiting 14 inches). But the growth of the dollar was forced to be determined faster and therefore I decided to choose a macbook pro 16. I do seo and YouTube, the main tasks are working with sites, various programs for analyzing the site, and editing videos in the final cut. The laptop not only lived up to my expectations, it exceeded them. In terms of speed, everything flies, what I rendered on air for an hour and a half, here it takes 7-10 minutes to render. Now the laptop for me is both mobile and powerful, I only travel by car, and therefore its weight is indifferent, the main thing is what is included in the xiaomi business backpack. The laptop gives the maximum pleasure from use. The 3k 16 inch screen turned out to be more pleasant to work with than the 27 inch fhd screen.
- 1) Power, compared to my previous laptop in 2022 core i7 16gb RAM and ssd 256, the increase in power is very significant here. 2) Incredible screen, if you have never worked on a screen larger than 1920x1080, you will be pleasantly surprised. 3) Sound, I would put it on the same level with jbl charge 3 (except for the volume of course) 4) Touchbar. As a person who previously used these keys on a poppy only as a change in volume and brightness, I can now say that everything is just as convenient, and you can also put keyboard shortcuts there, for example, the screen lock button on the touchbar is convenient for me. 5) Autonomy, yes, indeed, in routine tasks such as a browser and Word with Excel, the laptop will live for 7 hours, my previous laptop without an outlet in better times lived no more than an hour, and in the current no more than 5 minutes) 6) Dimensions, but with such power, the dimensions are very small, the weight is also tolerable, I put the laptop in a backpack, a backpack in the car, everything is very convenient. 7) The keyboard, I can’t say that it has changed compared to the macbook air of 2022, I didn’t really notice the difference, the keyboard is completely satisfied. 8) Appearance, yes the laptop looks very nice. 9) Airdrop has become much faster to work, I often shoot simple videos for YouTube on an iPhone, and it has become very convenient to throw them on a MacBook without wires. 10) The trackpad is much larger and more responsive than a 12 year old MacBook. 11) USB-c charging from two sides. It is very convenient when you do not know which side the outlet is on. 12) The headphone input also works for the microphone, in 2022 the macbook did not recognize the microphone through this input, only the headphones. 13) USB power supply with, in which case you can replace the cable without changing the power supply. 14) Bluetooth connection is more stable than in macbook air 12 years old.
- 1) Clicks of the speakers, yes, I saw different opinions on the Internet on this subject, but the clicks are just constant, it clicks 20-30 times in the evening. They say it's a software problem, but Apple never fixed anything. 2) Again, apparently a software bug, but sometimes leaving the laptop for the night, in the morning it is in a rebooted state with an error about the system crash. Appeared on catalina 15.4 on 15.1 did not notice this . And this did not happen at all on the macbook air for 12 years ! 3) A very easily soiled screen, it is worth opening the screen and fingerprints remain on the screen, they could put some kind of cloth, the screen around the perimeter is glass and therefore it is impossible to open the lid without smearing the screen. 07/24/2022 No matter how perfect this poppy was, but after 1 year and 1 week, the motherboard broke, the laptop went into an endless reboot with kernel panic! One pleases that in 2022 there is a 2-year warranty by law, so it would stick to 30k. Otherwise, there are no complaints about the laptop. Everything else within all operating systems, no worse, no better, these are freezes of various programs, and so on.
