We have a fairly light bedroom door that slams with all the force of Odin's beard when it does hitting the wind from our large bedroom window. After locking our dogs in our bedroom many times and nearly getting our ass kicked a few times, we thought this $7 item might be a good investment. With the quality construction and weight of this doorstop, I can confidently say it was worth it. On the right day we can get a strong gust in our room and the stopper keeps the door open on our carpet with no problem. I'm very sure it would be great in any residential use case on carpet or hardwood floors. I haven't tried it on a commercial door like I did in high school, but chances are you'll buy it for your home where you want it to do more than just do its job.
