This is not mentioned in the manual. When you open your old key case, there is a plastic chip compartment on one side and a battery compartment on the other. Once you've removed the silicone holding the electronics, flip the case halfway and tap on the table to remove the chip holder shell. Do the same with the other side that contains the battery. Even if the old case is broken, these tablets should generally be in good condition and easy to move around. Please note that you must first insert the key blade into the back of the case before inserting the battery case. I have a 2013 CRV. Not 100% sure this info applies to all Honda keys,
