I make this power supply a workhorse, running the output through a full wave bridge and relay to protect the output of this unit from solar voltage, and running voltage into the input of my MPPT which also drove the panels the voltage that allows the MPPT to manage the charging of the batteries so that only one device will service the batteries. Operating on a 24v system with 560w panels and using 5 amps from the power supply in charge mode only, otherwise the charger is isolated by a built in relay which senses when the DC load device is switched on. The internal fan kicks on under load after about 5 minutes, the battery I'm using is rated at 216 amps at 24 volts, when I'm done I'll have double that, I'll retire and play. Design this for blustery days when all external normal power goes out and run a sine wave inverter to power the fridge and entertainment equipment. OK update I've had good use for about 8 months if the DC converter and it just went up and down too bad didn't have any issues until it came out, response not reliable in the long run.
