Speakers failed in 13 months

I purchased this product on April 6, 2014. When I heard the noise, I was pleasantly surprised. The sound was powerful and it felt like I made the right decision to buy it. After about 20 days I heard some noises, pops, crackles, which weren't loud but enough to worry. I should have sent it back, but I didn't. I don't hear it but about 2 times a week and it doesn't happen all the time. I thought it might be music. Sometimes the audio was very good, so I was fine. As time went on I heard it more, but again did nothing through my own fault. I have not systematically attempted to understand this as I should have. Again, I only use it twice a week for 2-3 hours. As time went on I started noticing it more and more often and finally in the last month it was very bad with a click, bang and bang! Finally, I tried the devices on other docking systems and didn't hear any background noise. It was so annoying that I asked the Philips website for help because the manual I received with the device was inadequate. The person I connected with was nice but said it was probably the speakers and out of warranty so couldn't help me. She also said the model is 2011, as if that should explain her poor performance. I have products I've bought from Samsung and Sony that are 15 years old and work great. I took a risk and burned myself. I would never use a Philips system again. It didn't last long and ended up wasting my money. Please don't waste your money on a Philips docking station. I wish I had gone with systems that have proven themselves. So I'm concerned about other Philips products I've worked with in the past. Avoid this product.
