Fiction; if it works

advantages: + reads almost every kind of barcode you can think of scans the right code and there is no indication which one it took) + vibration when scanning is nice , so you can turn off the beep but still get feedback + Auto detect function works well; We just leave ours on this function and prefix it with the element to scan, it almost always works. Cons: - Instructions are a bit difficult to understand at times, but you can usually figure out that they can be turned off) First Experience: We bought two of these to replace an old barcode scanner that we had and was starting to have trouble with Reading some barcodes to have codes. It seemed pretty good when we first set it up, except we kept having this weird issue where some characters were being typed incorrectly. Since our other scanner also had problems with these codes (despite being correct when reading), I wasn't sure if they were barcodes or a scanner. I contacted support who responded the next day asking for a photo of the barcode we wanted to scan. After sending them they replied that their scanner could read the codes correctly so it was probably a configuration issue on our computer and checked our keyboard settings. This didn't seem to be a problem, but since it worked for them, I tried switching from Ubuntu to Windows, which seems to fix the problem. I contacted support again to find out why they didn't work on Ubuntu but never solved the problem (and to this day I only use them on Windows machines despite claiming to support Linux). Timeline of Experience: A few days ago after being set up for about 2 months, the main line we were using seemed to "hang" when lit as if reading but the red "laser" " line did not appear. as it normally does, and it doesn't scan or respond to trigger presses. I haven't contacted support about this yet, so I'll update this when I do (and hopefully try to fix the Linux issue while I'm at it). all the time) offline mode Conclusion: Overall we were very happy with them and they worked well once we set them up, at least until the single "freeze" issue. I will update this review once I resolve the issue with their support.
