I was really impressed by this scanner. He found 2 issues I had with my truck (as shown in the photo) in the first vehicle health report I did. You can click error to get more details. On my F150, a trailer brake failure showed up as a trailer brake short circuit on the trailer! It was 100% accurate. I found a short in my trailer and now the brakes are working fine. The second code, the air intake damper, was significantly lower. The truck's check engine light wasn't on, but it wasn't working properly either. When I clicked on the menu I found the Ford OE code B11F0:14. Air intake flap position sensor: short to ground or open. A quick google search with this information allowed me to pinpoint the problem with a loose cable connection to the sensor. There is NO WAY I would have known about this information or repaired my truck without this tool. However, this is not a basic scanning tool. This is a professional quality device, so this quality of information does not come cheap. To get the same information from anywhere, you would have to spend THOUSANDS on a tool cart brand scanner. You can always take your car to the dealer and get this service for yourself, but it costs twice what you would pay for this tool! This tool connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth and comes with a 5-car annual subscription. After that, the cost of additional vehicles is less than $20 per year. All subscriptions must be renewed annually to take full advantage of this tool. Resetting TPMS, ABS and many other systems is also available for a small fee. If you don't renew your subscription, the tool will continue to function as a simple code reader. (But it negates the huge benefits of it!) To sum it up, if you're an avid DIY enthusiast, you need this late model car tool. The Thinkcar app is excellent, the customer service is excellent and the value for money is excellent. Grand Slam home run in my book!
