I like that it's reusable. It looks well made. The soap gets stuck in the strainer, so cleaning requires a lot of water for rinsing. So I doubt it's really more eco-friendly than a biodegradable coffee filter. Soil gets everywhere and now I have to clean the coffee maker (not just the coffee pot) daily and the sink gets dirty too (which in turn wastes more water). The coffee is still good until you reach the bottom of the cup and realize it's full of coffee grounds and now you need to rinse your mouth (more water again). It has a plastic bottom, which means the coffee has to be filtered through the walls. If you open the pot while brewing, you'll see the coffee grounds floating around because they aren't draining fast enough. I have checked all possibilities and used them several times and have come to the conclusion that the problem is with the filter and not with the coffee maker, so I would not recommend buying it. I also don't consider it an eco-friendly product as it uses a lot of water on a daily basis and paper filters are biodegradable. It's not cost effective as it needs to last more than 3 years to be of comparable value and while it's durable it's not enough to outweigh all the downsides.
