Review on Asobu Bottle Amaretto 16 Ounce Stainless by Alicia Jones

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Would buy for $10 or less

So I bought this mug for under $10 and based my review on that price. I have a Bodum acrylic french press mug that I really like and bought it to try something new. Overall it's just not as high quality as the Bodum mug, although it works pretty much the same, maybe it lets a little more coffee particles through the filter than the Bodum, but that doesn't matter. Quality - 4/5 - Quality is generally decent, the steel cup is high quality and the lid is a weak point. The lid itself is fine (although it looks like cheap plastic), it really is a French pressed mechanism which could potentially be a quality issue. Design - 4/5 - The mug keeps coffee or tea hot for more than 2 hours. , it might keep it hot longer but I usually drink my hot drink (which has withstood several burns in my mouth due to my impatience) within 2 hours, once in the mug it stays hot! This is an upgrade on my Bodum acrylic mug which chills hot coffee much faster than this stainless steel mug. is inverted, but otherwise prevents leakage. The lid is easy to use, too, and the French press mechanism has a convenient folding handle that locks into the lid so it doesn't move on its own while drinking. The only downside to this is that when you unscrew the cap, you unscrew the filter press attached to the dipstick. It takes a few puffs for the filter to fall off, but that would be incredibly easy to fix if the plunger screwed into the filter in the opposite direction than the lid, which screws into the cup, preventing it from unscrewing . This can be a little difficult to imagine. From a user perspective, simply pulling the plunger up so it doesn't lock in the cap when you unscrew the cap avoids problems.
