Review on Panasonic 16 35Mm Full Frame Freeze Resistant Mirrorless by Jason Burnside

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fantastic lens, especially for video recording!

This is a well built lens with excellent color reproduction, sharpness, flare reduction and Leica certification! The autofocus is more sensitive than the Panasonic 24-105mm f4 S and has nice smooth transitions from near to far and vice versa. Focus modes on people and animals with priority on close objects give the best results overall. The pinched manual focus ring is also a big plus for video users. Keep in mind that sensor stabilization will shake in your video over a larger zoom range. but this is also a problem on other platforms (Canon, Fujifilm etc.) and not a problem in my opinion. All in all, this lens is a good choice if you shoot videos with the ab L mount and need a wide field of view. If you mainly shoot stills then you might want to consider the Sigma 12-24mm f2.8, but this lens doesn't have a Vari-ND front filter thread, making it unsuitable for video.

  • Confident
Cons
