I bought a pack of these in place of our battle proven antennas for our TK-5220 PD handhelds. Build quality and appearance appeared identical to the OEM antennas, and officials were pleased to ditch their old tape antennas. In the field, EVERY officer receiving one of these antennas hit the repeater with great difficulty, while another officer standing 3ft away using the original OEM antenna literally picked up the radio with crystal clear clarity. I hooked one of these up to my radio (with a good OEM antenna) and on the same channel, in the same spot, I wasn't readable (loud and clear with the OEM). Before one of my officers is injured from being unable to communicate, look elsewhere for a replacement for these doorstops.
