Review on πŸ–€ Smooth Cast Onyx Fast Black Liquid Plastic Casting Resin - Trial Unit: Superior Quality and Quick Setting Result by Amber Perez

A good product. Captures details very well. Take the name seriously: FAST

I like the final material. It compares well to any mass-produced device made out of high quality black plastic. However, my first try taught me that I should use a timer. [cm. image] I stirred, no problem, still runny. I stopped stirring, took the mold and poured it in. Hm. It would be no. It solidified in the time it took me to absorb the shape right in front of me. Set a timer and don't pull it out. When the expiration date ends, it does not become sticky; it's gonna be hard It feels very hot and needs some time to cool down. Be patient. Do not touch. I had a lot of bubbles, but that's mostly because I grossly overestimated the amount to mix, and rather than rotomolding, it filled the mold to the end. Oops. I didn't get a chance to do more than tap-tap-tap, slap, slap. If you can, maybe try mixing a small amount to lubricate the mold, then mix the rest and pour out? 🀞🏻 I don't have a compression or degassing setup but I doubt it would help me. Most of my bubbles were on top/back because I wanted my shape to rotate. Air came under the ceiling. I could redo the shape and make a hole at the top of one end so there is less room on the roof to hold the bubbles. My mold was overflowing with a hole in the middle of the top so I couldn't tilt it to release the bubbles. The gnarly bit on the corner on the second try is due to a defect in my silicone mold. Onyx Fast reproduced this bug perfectly. I didn't use the mold release agent in a fairly standard homemade mold and it came out of the silicone easily. I've tried using scissors to trim the border around the edge but it's too hard to cut with scissors. Sanding, filing, or sanding is probably the way to clean it. Bottles are terrible to fill. Get ready with a rag. Part B was particularly dirty. The end product looks and feels good. If you can avoid my mistakes you will get a very professional result.
