I bought a 5-6 for my 7 year old daughter who is 47 pounds and 47.5 inches. It seems to me that it is a little wide and a little short. Technically this should be judging by their height, but it's slightly higher than the knee than I was expecting. She also has some extra tissues around her stomach. This is normal, not particularly flattering. The color is beautiful, dark green. She loved the dress for her doll so we're keeping it and only wearing it with leggings.
