Review on Saris Bones 805 2 Bike Trunk by Gabriel Rosenberg

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fits Ford Fusion 2016

Very good product BENEFITS - 3 attachment points - 2 on top tube, 1 on seat tube - Sturdy construction with aluminum core - Not heavy - Easy to fit and attach to trunk - Nice design both folded and also folded. It doesn't take up much space. Independent support arms allow adjustment to the shape of the frame. The arms can be adjusted to the height of the bike so you don't have it too low to the ground or too high. A luggage rack with arms open or folded allows the trunk to be opened without hindrance and without the risk of hitting the rear window - No scratches or marks, rubber feet work well - I've used it 2 times so far and have ridden my bike on it for 60 miles , and it holds up great, no vibration or bike loosening. DISADVANTAGES - Metal belt clips can hit bodywork during vibration, so use caution and protect this area. (I used an extra strap to wrap around the metal clip and rubber bands to hold it in place. - The excess straps need to be secured somehow or they will dangle - Plastic screw for tightening so the supports don't look as strong. - Plastic straps for bike mounts don't have a rough surface, so they can rub paint onto the bike frame (I've seen other brands with a rubber strap instead. 6 attachment points that need fixing every time. - There's nothing to prevent the Turning the steering column and the front wheel, you might not like that you can't touch the bumper during transport (I used straps with hooks - 1 to hold the front wheel and one to hold the pedal and the rear wheel) the ford fusion trunk has special mounting holes The hooks on the bottom (at least I imagine their purpose) easily snap with attach straps and clips to trunk.
