Review on Secure and Convenient Malone Runway BC3 Back-of-Car 3-Bike Carrier by Tim Evans

CHECK THE LOAD! It is intended for ultra-light bikes, although it is not stated on the packaging or in the product description. Carrying capacity is 33 pounds per bike, while most adult bikes are over 40 pounds and kids bikes are around 30 pounds. We loaded this rack with two adult bikes and one kid's bike (unaware of the unusually low carrying capacity) and the bikes fell off the back of our jeep onto the highway! My husband had to pick them up on the interstate before they were hit by anyone, putting his own safety at risk. I contacted the company and told them what had happened and they said they would not be returning the rack (which I only bought 2 weeks ago) as one of our bikes weighed 42lbs. I'm grateful my husband wasn't hurt. and felt obliged to tell others about it. The company should really state this on the packaging or redesign the bike rack to accommodate standard weight bikes.
