I bought several of these rolls to make jelly roll mats. I tried cutting my own cotton and quickly realized that pre-cutting is worth EVERY penny. It's a lot easier and allows me to sew instead of cutting. My only criticism is that the thickness of the batting is the same from roll to roll. Some are very thick and plush, others are almost transparent. They all work well, but I don't want half my rug to be significantly thicker than the other half, so I have to pick the 2 with the lightest thickness for each rug.
