I read the reviews and did as recommended: rinsed in cold water several times and let dry and there After the first or second wear there was really no dye spread. Certainly no more than would be typical of unlined leather gloves. They are also comfortable, which is not always found. Another benefit of rinse aids is that the paint has a distinct smell which I remember from my leatherworking class at Scouts and the rinse removed that smell leaving a much nicer leather smell. I was concerned that the conditioner might make the skin stiff or dry out, but that's ok. As a last resort, a simple hand lotion can help moisturize dry skin if you ever need it. Because it's leather!
