Good, solid column. The case is steel with a thick enamel coating. It appears to be very well made and very well packaged. It has speakers on either side and I've found that placing it next to a wall or corner almost amplifies the sound, allowing the sound from the rear speaker to bounce off the wall and into the room. The speaker isn't powerful enough to blow hair back, but for the size you would expect? The sound will fill the room, don't worry. The sound quality is quite good, nothing creaks or wheezes. Comes with a nice wrist strap if you want to take it with you or attach it to your bike handlebar. Charges fairly quickly and lasts for hours,
