When I bought my 2017 RAM a few weeks ago I couldn't believe they still had the old school metal antenna mast. In most new cars, they are integrated into the navigation system up to the roof. I had to get rid of him. This little antenna is great. Almost 5 stars, but I have to deduct a star for this reason: I live about 30 miles from Columbus, Ohio and I have noticed a slight loss of radio signal. With the old antenna I would have received all HD radio stations well, but they flickered every now and then. With this antenna it seems to be "a little" worse. A little more often they step in HD and out in a normal signal. It doesn't really matter to me as I usually listen to SIRIUS-XM or Pandora over Bluetooth. If you live less than 20 kilometers from a major city, I don't see that as a problem. Very easy to install --- took maybe 2 minutes. You'll probably need a wrench to take the old antenna off, but I only hand tightened the new one - it's not going anywhere and I'm sure it will be fine in the car wash without removing it.
