My original gasket on the large BGE was worn out so I found this one. Preparation is key. I scraped off all the old, sanded lightly with 320 grit, then cleaned with household cleaner. Wipe with alcohol and let dry completely. Start at the back and slowly work your way forward as you remove and press your backing into place. I used J-Roller when I went but you can probably just use your hand. Don't stretch it. There's a lot on this roll for a big BGE. We put the lid on and lower it for 24-48 hours. I started with a few small fires to improve adhesion after 48 hours of waiting. It's been a few weeks and it's firmly in place. This is a great product made in the USA!
