This is the exact length, diameter and style of the OEM mounts on the tailgate of my 1990 Corvette C4 coupe. The electrical connectors for the defroster rotate into position and then the black plastic end caps on each end of the cylinder can be tightened to hold the defroster connector in place so it doesn't rotate. The cylinder shaft rotates to place each end cap in the correct position relative to the pins on the vehicle. Simply examine your old cylinder and rotate the cylinder body until the caps are in the correct position. They got up immediately after removing the old one and hold the hatch very securely. I was able to move the black foam ring around the cylinder body from my original cylinders to the new ones and it fits perfectly like the original. Great price for these and they work well and are easy to install. Use a small screwdriver to pry the metal clip on the old ones and remove them, on the new ones you don't have to do anything, just press on it. and they pop out of the pins easily.
