is perfect for general trail riding! I can see if you drive fast/aggressively you might get a 2.5 Minion but for 99% of drivers this tire is suitable for a variety of conditions with fairly good lateral lugs and cornering grip. I ride the Ikon+ from behind and this GOBS has more traction than this one. It's not that the Ikon doesn't, but through corners this tire hooks and holds, while the Ikon offers predictable drift. This tire really locks up, I've never felt it slip, especially with the right pressure. I run about 13psi (I'm a short guy). Santa Cruz installs them on the front and back of their Plus bikes. That should tell you something.
