Less than 2.8 in real life

The typical Maxxis finish is great, but this isn't a true 2.8 tire. Rather 2.6. Even if you measure from the outside of the handles, they appear smaller. That's less than my factory tires 2.8. So I suggest if you want a tire around 2.8 you should upgrade to Maxis Chronicle 3.0.

  • Hands-free handling

Great tire at a great price, dispatched and delivered on time.

I've been using the Maxxis DHR 2.8+ on the bike for a while after the last recon failed. I forgot how much livelier the bike rides with the Rekon 120 TPI. The rounded profile allows the bike to cut at any angle with no stopping point, unlike the boxy DHR. Super grip, excellent handling, very light for a 2.8+ tire. They are very soft when new and tend to cut easily when unseasoned.

  • Great overall performance

perfect for regular trail riding!

is perfect for general trail riding! I can see if you drive fast/aggressively you might get a 2.5 Minion but for 99% of drivers this tire is suitable for a variety of conditions with fairly good lateral lugs and cornering grip. I ride the Ikon+ from behind and this GOBS has more traction than this one. It's not that the Ikon doesn't, but through corners this tire hooks and holds, while the Ikon offers predictable drift. This tire really locks up, I've never felt it slip, especially with the…

5 ID discs and they are great. Sizes below: Height-trax 28 1/2 " Recon- 28.

Okay bought these for my conversion to 27.5+ because the Indy9 guy said they run small on rims with 28.5 ID, and they are great sizes below Height-Trax 28 1/2"Recon- 28 1/4 Width-Trax 2 3/4+" Recon- 2 5/8" Recon is more like on the MTB tire used for with a strong profile and good side grips. The truck is rounded like a fat bike tire and less aggressive. The Recon is smaller but fits better on my Turner Sultan 29r. Trax I was running at 18psi, but it doesn't feel like cornering fast. Recon works
